After Paris, Luke Edward Hall's Chateau Orlando to open London pop-up

French/English/Italian retailer Chateau Orlando has made an unusual choice of venue to open its first London pop-up store. Chiltern Street’s Shreeji News and Magazines will be its debut “immersive temporary store” in partnership with digital media outlet Semaine.

It will be the first physical space for customers to shop the brand’s SS24 ready-to-wear collection in a curated space imagined by Chateau Orlando’s Creative Director Luke Edward Hall.

The inspiration for the opening comes from the success of his ‘shoppable living room’ concept Le Salon in Paris, which debuted towards the end of 2023.

Meanwhile, Hall also found further inspiration for the design and feel of the London space from the capital's souvenir shops, “bringing to life the world of Chateau Orlando”.

The pop-up, which will opens daily until 10 June, also features giftable souvenirs such as handmade ceramic brooches made for the brand by potter Jenny Knight, new rugs made in collaboration with Milan-based design company cc-tapis, dinner candle sets, and a special edition London poster designed, numbered, and signed by Hall.

Additionally, he has spent the past months curating a selection of vintage books (also for sale) on topics ranging from the chateaux of France and flower arranging via Vita Sackville-West and Robert Mapplethorpe. Flowers are also on display brought in from Hall’s own garden and his loca country flower farm.
