McKeon, who has 11 Olympic medals under her belt, will represent both Australia and the maison in Paris when the games kick off on July 26.

"A virtuoso partnership that is a natural reflection of Dior's fascination with the values of sport, such as discipline, perseverance, and respect, but above all the desire to stretch, ever further, the limits of intrepid excellence," said Dior in a statement in announcing the appointment.

The gold medal-winning swimmer joins Dior's 15-strong all-female international athlete ambassadorship program. Other stars include Jamaican sprinter Elaine Thompson-Herah; Hawaiian surfer Carissa Moore; and French boxer Estelle Mossely, as well as Italian Paralympic fencers Beatrice “Bebe” Vio Grandis, Andreea Mogos and Loredana Trigilia.

"Honoured to be a Dior athlete ambassador for the Paris Olympic Games. I have long been an admirer of Christian Dior and I couldn’t be more excited to have their support," said McKeon in a post on Instagram, regarding the Dior news.

The Paris Olympic Games will be the 30-year-old athlete's final Olympics.
