Liverpool One launches 'Summer of Fun' to drive footfall and sales with weeks of activations

With events already a key feature of the Liverpool One shopping centre, operator Grosvenor is to host over 10 weeks of placemaking and experiential activations in a ‘Summer of Fun’ “to deliver additional footfall and sales”.

“Further enlivening Liverpool One, the additions cement the destination’s position as a vibrant hub at the heart of the UK’s most sociable city, which was recently named best large city break destination in the UK by Which?”, noted the property giant.
As the city prepares for large-scale global events, including a series of sell-out Taylor Swift concerts, there's also the already-opened Upside Down House, and illusional installation designed to immerse visitors in an array of themed upside-down rooms. Plus there's a free basketball tournament Chavasse Park (31 May-2 June 2).
Meanwhile, the ’Taylor Town Trail’ (8 June) celebrates the arrival of Taylor Swift for her concerts at Anfield Stadium (13-15 June); and an official Team GB & Paralympics GB Fan Zone will appear for the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, hosting a giant screen on Chavasse Park from 1 July for 10 weeks. And in partnership with Ocean Outdoor, the screen is also one of nine official Fan Zones across the country and will stream major sporting events including Wimbledon and more. Also, the Tickle the Ivories Festival (in July for nine weeks) has become one of Liverpool One’s most successful enlivenment initiatives and one of the largest piano festivals in the North West.
